Day 3 Nice - Bye to France Hello to Italy

It’s Friday! And we have a lot of connections on trains before we make it to Florence.

And last night the sleeping was rough due to the incessant beeping of this construction equipment outside the building.

We started out with our hotel breakfast which Brienna and Matthew despised. What’s not to like with chocolate filled bread?!

We walked over to Mcdonalds for Matthew. Ironically, he decided not to get anything. We tried a 2nd place but that one also they wanted nothing.

We got to the train station on time and boarded for our first connection in Ventimiglia Italy. We ended up taking a much earlier train to avoid our tight 14 minute transfer on the original plan. What was I thinking?

Because we grabbed that earlier train at the last minute, it was totally full #standingroomonly.

Luckily that train was only 1 hour and the next train we got seats. That train goes to Genova. I booked us trains that would skirt the Italian side of the coastline.

Made it to Genova.

Matthew finally got McDonalds!

On the next train to Pisa. We have assigned seats and free waters! Score.

Well well well….somehow we got off at the wrong station. This was me booking tickets on these trains.

We are one stop too early. Good news, we can still catch a train from here to Florence. Disaster averted. See you there.

We got on the new train and are on the way somehow making it an hour earlier. UPDATE: Not an hour early. Exactly the same arrival time. 😜
